What We Are Looking For

  • Open to all currently active DMK-Certified Estheticians.
  • Choose the category that best highlights your work:
    • Acne – Clear, lasting results for clients struggling with breakouts.
    • Aging – Rejuvenation, lift, and restoration of youthful skin.
    • Body – Transformations beyond the face: stretch marks, firmness, or overall skin health.
    • Compromised – Transformations for clients with Rosacea, Eczema, Psoriasis, and reactive skin.
    • Hyperpigmentation – Dramatic tone correction and skin clarity.
    • Scarring – Dramatic hypertrophic, atrophic, acne, or stretch mark scar revision.
    • StemZyme® – Advanced enzymatic treatment results.
  • Submit a minimum of 6 photos: 3 Before and 3 After
    • Tip: Select a client/model who can commit to up to 12 weeks of treatment for maximum impact.
  • Submission Period: March 31 – August 31

Eligibility Requirements

To enter the DMK Before & After Challenge, the esthetician must:

  • Must be a currently active DMK Certified Esthetician.
    • If you are not currently a DMK Certified Esthetician but would like to enter the contest, please sign up and complete the Fundamentals Webinar, and then sign up and complete DMK’s Program One.  Currently accepted licenses that may participate in DMK education include: MD (Doctor of Medicine), PA (Physician Assistant), RN (Registered Nurse), NP (Nurse Practitioner), LC (Licensed Cosmetologist), LE (Licensed Esthetician).
  • Must live and practice in the state or country from which they are submitting images.
  • Must hold a current esthetician license as regulated by local laws.
  • Must be 18 years or older (clients/models must also be 18+).
  • Agree that all judging results are final.
  • Agree to disclose all home care products used during the competition (typically 6–8) and provide a detailed treatment protocol.
  • Participants and their clients/models are responsible for all expenses incurred during the competition.
  • Only DMK Professional Back Bar and Retail Home Prescriptives may be used. DMK-distributed supplements (EFA+ and Regul8) are allowed and encouraged as part of treatment protocols. Other skincare products are prohibited and will result in disqualification. Appliances may be used only on the epidermis; injections, fillers, threads, surgery, lifts, and similar procedures are prohibited.
  • Photos taken Jan 1, 2024, or later are eligible if they follow the photo protocols.
  • Agree that DMK International may use submitted images, likenesses, and information for educational and marketing purposes.
  • Participants must have full rights to submitted photos. By submitting, the Esthetician grants DMK International rights to use these images for educational and marketing at its discretion.
  • Photos must be raw, original, unedited, and in HEIC, JPG or PNG format. Do not submit photos with watermarks, tags, or clinic info on the image. Retouched images will be disqualified. All submissions will undergo in-depth analysis.

  • Estheticians must take BEFORE photos of their client/model on the treatment start date and AFTER photos on the treatment end date. Photos are not required between these dates.

    Photos must include the following views:

    • Front
    • Left side
    • Right side


    Photos may be taken with the client lying on the treatment table or by following the B&A Mat Guidelines (Click Here for PDF).

  • The client/model should wear the same type of clothing in their before and after photos for best comparison. Remove any esthetic headbands for the photos.
  • Photos can be uploaded via mobile device or desktop/laptop.

One winner will be selected from each category: Acne, Aging, Body, Compromised, Hyperpigmentation, Scarring, and Stemzyme®.

Each winner will receive:

*(Value is based on home country wholesale price & currency). Prizes are valid for participants only. Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash. DMK International reserves the right to disqualify any participant based on a decision made by the judges. This contest is void where prohibited by law. Participants understand and acknowledge that this is a competition for licensed estheticians and that DMK is not responsible or liable for any injury or problems resulting from participation in the contest. Participants are encouraged to seek the advice of trained medical professionals. People with heart conditions, diabetes, a history of health problems, and pregnant women should consult their physicians before participating. Participants release and hold harmless DMK International, its principles, and its employees for any harm or injury resulting from participation in this contest.

Submission Instructions

  1. Adult Model Release Form – Have your client/model sign and upload as a .heic, .png, .jpg, or .jpeg.
  2. Treatment Protocol Form – Complete the Treatment Protocol Form (Step 2 of the Before & After Submission Form) below. Use the Protocol Writing Guidelines for assistance when completing each section.
  3. Before & After Photos – Submit in .heic, .png, .jpg or .jpeg. Each set must include front, right, and left profile views. The client/model should wear the same type of clothing in their before and after photos for the best comparison.
    • Pro Tip: Use DMK’s B&A Positioning Mat Instructions PDF (Positioning Mat available to purchase on orderDMK) as a guide to ensure your before-and-after photos are taken with consistent angles, positioning, and lighting for the most accurate visual comparison.
  4. Category Selection – Choose the category that best represents the results: Acne, Aging, Body, Compromised, Hyperpigmentation, Scarring or Stemzyme®.
  5. Submission Form – Complete and upload all documentation and images. Challenge starts on March 31, 2026 and the LAST DAY TO SUBMIT IMAGES IS MONDAY, AUGUST 31, 2026.

What To Expect After You Submit

Judging Process and Criteria

  • All participant entries will be judged and a winner from each category will be selected.
  • The final judging of each category winner will take place after contest ends.
  • Judge scoring will be based on the following criteria:
    • Visible Skin Transformation – Clear, measurable improvement in the skin condition being treated—such as acne reduction, improved texture, brighter tone, or reduced pigmentation.
    • Consistent Photography – Before and after photos must be taken in the same lighting, angle, distance, and facial expression to ensure an accurate comparison.
    • Untouched Images – Photos must be completely unedited—no filters, retouching, smoothing, or digital enhancements.
    • Treatment Integrity – Results should reflect DMK professional skincare treatments and protocols, demonstrating real, achievable outcomes.
    • Skin Health Improvement – Beyond cosmetic change, we’re looking for visible signs of healthier skin: improved barrier function, clarity, and overall skin vitality.
    • Professional Presentation – Clear, high-quality images that showcase the treatment area and allow judges to properly evaluate the results.

  • Past B&A treatment photos are allowed from Jan 1, 2024 on, but subject to qualification depending on the quality of the photos taken.

Does the treatment time have to be 12 weeks?

The treatment time is up to the esthetician – for example, a StemZyme protocol takes 50 days, while a pigmentation treatment will be shorter. 12 weeks is our guideline, but whatever yields the best results wins!

No, the treatment length is entirely up to you.

Can I use any other machines or modalities with my treatment?

No, this contest is exclusive to DMK Products and Treatments and excludes machines or modalities.

No, DMK Treatment Protocols and Home Prescriptives should never be used alongside non-DMK products.

Do I need a specific camera to take my B&As?
Do I need a specific camera to take my B&As?

No. iPhone, digital, or other cameras are all allowed if the photos follow the B&A guidelines.

What if I have great B&As using my VISIA® machine or other technical camera?
What if I have great B&As using my VISIA® machine or other technical camera?

VISIA® images are allowed, if it is the first “bare” set of images, with no breakdown included and no retouching, according to the B&A guidelines.
